Lookbook Diary | 2021: Week 5
AD AFFILIATE LINKS
Good Day to you all – I hope you all have had a great week. This week for me has gone past in a blur. Work has been busy, as well as I have been busy learning new skills for YouTube, to enable me to make better videos for you all… as well as dipping my toe in, on how to create ‘Reels’ for Instagram. Its funny, as even though one would say that the ripe age of ’35’ is not too old – I definitely feel like a dinosaur when it comes to learning all the new technologies! I always feel as if I am one (or maybe more than one!) step behind, as once I have finished learning one skill, there seems to be another 2-3 things that I need to learn as well as further shift on how creative content is to be delivered.
Nevertheless, even though sometimes, it feels as if I am climbing up a mountain sometimes, I am enjoying it and am very much just trying to find my feet and learn what I do and don’t like doing, as well as what is the best way to deliver my content for you all. So, on that note, if you ever do have any thoughts on this, please, please share this with me – as after all, I want to share content that I enjoy making but most of all, content that you find useful or enjoyable and works best for you.
On a separate note, at the end of this week, I celebrated a small win for me – which was consistently training everyday this week! Now, yes, I have never strived to workout more than 4 times a week. However, I honestly have enjoyed working out so much this week, that I haven’t really felt the ‘slump’ or woken up not wanting to workout, even though some mornings I woke up with very little energy… I think the key reasons I have worked out each day this week and haven’t felt like I have not wanted to work out, are:
1. I made a plan at the start of the week as to what were the mix of workouts I was going to complete in the week.
2. I ensured that no workout was longer than 30 mins – a key factor for me – as at the start of the month, I started with 50-60 min workouts each day and I really found I was not looking forward to them due to the length of them.
3. My workouts were a complete mix and consisted of 1x HIT session, 2x Leg Session, 2x Running outside, 1x Yoga session and 1x Stretch session.
4. Changing my attitude to workouts which are not necessarily focussed on reaching and staying within the highest heart range. By incorporating stretch sessions and yoga – I think this has enabled me to break up what seems like an intense week of working out.
5. In addition, being able to run outside, has also given me a new lease of life in the morning – as the mornings are now getting lighter. Running outside enables me to feel ‘free’ during what is currently a very restrictive and controlled time!
Hopefully, this gives you some ideas as to how to shake up your own workouts as well as inspiration to change your mindset as to the type of workouts you include in your week. I think especially as you get older it is important to include exercises which focus on the stretching of your muscles and are less high impact. Overall these changes, are not only great for my overall workout consistency but for my overall body health also.
My Thought for the week…
